Door destruction animation that I made for my project "Rescue Squad"
It was a good opportunity to learn Houdini RBD and the pipeline into Unreal.
Thank you so much to Angel Campo for guiding me and answering all my questions through the process!
All assets were created by me.
Final Result
Then I put the model into Houdini and started working on the rigid body dynamics simulation using bullet solver.
I exported the animation out of Houdini, brought it into Maya, tweaked the animation of the pieces so that it felt more natural and fit what I wanted from the animation, and hand-animated the pieces that were connected to the frame by hinges.
After that, I brought the animation into Unreal and added dust explosions and dust residue.
Finally, I added textures for the frame, surface, and interior of the wood. And done!
